My Mission
As a proud product of America, I have witnessed progress, yet I recognize that communities of color continue to face discrimination and trauma. My upbringing, under the guidance of a single parent, a strong black woman, instilled in me a deep desire to make a difference and a belief that leading by example is the most impactful means of promoting social change and diversity.
This drive has led me to achieve numerous milestones in my professional life. From earning my degree at the Annenberg School at The University of Southern California, to holding senior executive positions at top companies like Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Coors Brewing, and General Motors Corp, to serving as an on-air contributor at CNBC, and establishing my own consulting practice, 2050 Marketing.
I am especially honored to share my passion for excellence and education as a full-time ‘Professional-In-Residence’ at the Kent State University School of Media and Journalism, my alma mater. By guiding the next generation of communications professionals, I am realizing my goal of inspiring positive change and promoting diversity.
Throughout my journey, I have been dedicated to creating inclusive and diverse teams that foster transparent, personal, and professional relationships built on trust. I am a steadfast advocate for diversity and inclusion, racial equality, economic opportunity, and upward mobility for our future leaders. In addition to his CEO role, Mike is a highly regarded 'Professional-In-Residence' at the Kent State University School of Media and Journalism. As faculty adviser for Franklin Advertising and chair of the board of Kent State Student Media, Mike is empowering students to produce content across multiple platforms, from TV to social media, and everything in between.

With over a decade of experience in the industry, Mike has made a significant impact as a marketing analyst, guest commentator, and contributor, sharing his expertise on various media platforms such as NBC, CNBC, ABC, NPR, CCTV, USA Today, and numerous podcasts. He offers insightful analysis on the latest trends and developments in tech companies like Facebook, Google, Amazon, and Apple, consumer product companies like Pepsi, P&G, and Nike, sports leagues like the NBA, NFL, and MLB, and automotive brands like Tesla, Ford Motor, and General Motors.
Mike Jackson is a visionary leader with a passion for excellence and a track record of success in the marketing and advertising industry. With over 20 years of experience at the helm of major brands such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Coors Brewing Company, and General Motors, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to innovation and growth.
As the former North America Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for General Motors, Mike expertly managed a media budget of 3.2 billion dollars and oversaw the launch of some of the company's most successful new products, including the Chevy Silverado, Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac CTS-V, and the GMC Acadia. He was also instrumental in restructuring the relationship between GM and its advertising and media agencies and accelerating the company's focus on digital media.
In addition to his impressive professional accomplishments, he also served on the board of directors for various organizations, including LEAD, (Leadership, Education, And Development) in Philadelphia, The Los Angeles Urban League, and The Arthur Ashe Foundation in New York.
Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, Mike holds a degree in journalism from Kent State University, a master's degree from The Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California, and an Advanced Management certificate from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
With a distinguished career and a passion for giving back, Mike is an inspiration and continues to set the bar for excellence in the industry.
